This is one of my most favorite cakes, it was so cute and fun, I just couldn't stop adding little things to it. Super Mario is coming up out of an underground tunnel, ready to avoid the little bomb, killer mushrooms, and the venus fly traps. Careful, there are turtles lurking around too.
I made this pumpkin spice cake just for fun, 2 stacked bundt cakes with a little carving, a little buttercream, a little fondant, a little airbrushing and ta-daaa, a pumpkin ready for carving. The leaves are all fondant and airbrushed.
Our very special friend and neighbor asked for Dora the Explorer for her birthday. She's made of rice crispy treats and then covered in modeling chocolate and fondant. She's wearing her backpack and hanging out with her favorite stars. (I did run out of time for boots too)
This little cake is adorable, for a baby shower for twins, a boy and a girl. The pea pod on top is made to be kept in a display case for the mother to be. I finished the cake and took pictures and then realized I was going to put a string of green pearls around each of the plaques to look like peas. Each plaque has same color toys cut out on them to give a very classy design.
Ok, in the 80s when Thunder Cats was a big cartoon, I was on a farm in Northern Alberta and got 1 TV channel on a clear day...so I missed out. But this cake was for a fan of the cartoon and features Lion-O who has to be a very brave man wearing a unitard with a peekaboo stomach hole.
Lion-O is not upright because I didn't figure he'd make the transport just stuck to the side of the cake with buttercream.
